Our experts know the specificity of the Polish labour market. Smart Work Group is a significant market player and the media devotes a lot of attention to us.
2018 was not an easy year for employers. It is difficult to find the right employees, hire them and keep them for longer. According to Mariusz Hoszowski, CEO of Smart Work, a company specialising in temporary work, one of the reasons is the reluctance of many Poles to work, as well as the lack of adequate professional qualifications. - Theoretically, the number of candidates was enough for employers to choose among them, but in practice there were few of them - says Mariusz Hoszowski.
Are Far Eastern employees a good perspective for Poland? According to Mariusz Hoszowski, the solution for the Polish economy is diversification of the directions of recruitment and openness to foreigners. However, we cannot treat the workers from the Far East as a way to fill gaps in the main staff, but as additional support.
Among the foreigners deciding to work in Poland, the majority of people are of working age - According to our data, the largest group of over half a million foreigners are people in 25-29 age range, and then from 30 to 34 years - says Mariusz Hoszowski, the president of Smart Work.
Over the past years, demand for employees from the East has been evenly distributed to a larger number of industries, therefore employment of foreigners is not rare now - we find it not only in construction, agriculture or industrial processing, but also in the services sector - transport, trade, tourism or gastronomy. It is also worth to mention the growing number of people from abroad who decided to set up their own business in our country. - says Mariusz Hoszowski, the president of Smart Work.
If we would like to maintain the current rate of economic growth by 2050, Poland must accept about 5 million immigrants only to keep the current state of development”- claims Mariusz Hoszowski.
Over the past few years, wage increases have been observed by around 7% compared to the previous year. - We anticipate at least the same growth rate this year, e.g. due to GDP growth - says Mariusz Hoszowski.
“In Poland, there is no branch of the economy in which there is no activity of employees from the East”- says Mariusz Hoszowski, the president of Smart Work.
Workers from the Far East come to us mainly from Nepal, India and Bangladesh, and to a lesser extent from Indonesia or the Philippines. The reason for their increasing number is seen not only in the difficult economic situation existing in their home countries, but also in the decline in the number of employees from Eastern Europe willing to come to Poland.
